Don't Miss the Inaugural Meet-Up of the Hope Knows No Borders Book Club & Webinar Series
On providing sanctuary and building railroads in times of social injustice and uncertainty
Mark your calendars! Register now!
The inaugural meet-up of the Hope Knows No Borders Book Club & Webinar Series is Sunday, March 30, 2:30-4:00 ET.
Our first meeting, on Providing Sanctuary and Building Railroads in times of injustice and uncertainty, features Reverend John Fife and Dora Rodriguez, co-padres of the Sanctuary movement in the 1980s. They will kick off our burgeoning community of resistance and resilience in a conversation with author Sarah Towle about when the sanctuary movement began…and why.
Their past experiences have much to inform communities and places of worship now offering or considering offering shelter and sanctuary to those who are today more vulnerable than ever. Joining John and Dora will be current sanctuary providers to speak to the unique challenges and threats posed by an administration on an anti-democratic and authoritarian rampage that victimizes the newcomers, criminalizes the caregivers, justifies the unjustifiable, and thus compromises all our values.
